In HUNTING REPORTS
Got permission from another KCSCI member to hunt some spring turkey instead of isolating in my house. First day had several hens come out and make a scene around me, not liking my decoys. Their noise, plus I hope some of my calls, enticed 2 toms to come check out what was going on. At about 30 yards I took the bigger of of the 2, a nice bird of about 26 pounds, 11 inch beard and 1" spurs on both sides. A week later, my son joined me and killed a tom at the same location, same blind, that weighed 22 pounds and had another 11 inch beard. My other son struck out, but he was using his bow and turned down a couple of shots that a shotgunner would have taken. A great spring !!
